Surveying & Recording Historic Ironwork

Event Description

This one-day course, in the beautiful surroundings of Coleshill Estate in Oxfordshire, will guide you through the process of surveying historic ironwork and recording findings, as part of the process of creating a condition report.

After a morning looking at example formats and case studies, the afternoon will be dedicated to practical application on two sets of gates within the estate.

The course will be led by Rowan Taylor (AWCB), conservation blacksmith, teacher, and NHIG bursary scheme graduate.

We will also be joined by Andy Thearle, owner of Ironart of Bath, who will present a selection of surveying case-studies on heritage projects.

You can download the programme for the day here.

We aim with our pricing structure to differentiate between those who are self-funding, and those whose ticket will be covered by an employer and who will not lose income by attending.
